Ted's food is simple and grilled to order. The menu is limited but easy to digest. You got burgers, hot dogs, sausage, fries, and rings....that's it. They do what they do and they're good at what they do. I absolutely recommend getting the onion rings......besides their grilled hot dogs, it's a staple. Great outdoor seating when the weather is fair. -1 star because the line moved very slow at lunch rush. I definitely wouldn't recommend going between 12pm and 1pm...try to get there at off-peak hours.

Though I was never at the restaurant this review is solely for the Hot Dogs...THEY ARE PHENOMENAL!!!

Best place to get a Sahlens, hands down. Love to take the family here. Service is fast and food is always great. Prices are good, especially with their coupons and "meal deals."

I love a good, basic, no-frills menu staying true to its old-fashioned roots. I love it. The feel of Ted's is very much that - you walk in and there is a black and white menu offering a handful of variations of a few key items: hot dogs, burgers, and fried sides. This is the sort of place that the biggest obstacle is wondering whether you want dill pickle or sweet relish on your dog, whether you're hungry enough for the foot long, and if you want your dog charred or just softly blistering. Decisions decisions. At lunch, the line wraps around the restaurant and can look a bit intimidating. Yes, it takes longer than McDonalds from order to presentation, but not that much longer, and everything is cooked for YOU. However, to be clear, the line moves fast, and this is one of those places where you have to know how to order before you get to the counter. If you don't, you risk holding up the line and the locals will roll their eyes and judge you silently. I know I would. So, how to tackle the menu? I'm a hot dog gal myself, so let's use that as the example. First, know if you want regular or footlong (get the footlong - this was a trick question). Then, when you step up to the plate, order as such. Also get a side of fries or a side of rings (i prefer both because, well, f*ck you, Heart) at this point. Then you step to the side where someone is grilling many many dogs of various colors and sizes (i.e. get the eff out of the way so the person behind you can order). Tell the person at the register what you ordered, and also throw in a soda or two (but I think you have to call it "pop" here, because Buffalo is weird). Pay for your order and then stand as un-intrusively as possible to wait for the griller to get to your dog. When its yours they're assembling, you tell them if you want it cooked or burnt, and then lob over a string of words indicating your innards-preference (mustardonionpickle, for instance) as quickly and incoherently as possible - for some reason, they speak breathy jibberish and will no-doubt deliver you exactly what you asked for. You then take your big pile of greasy delightfulness and sit in a corner booth by yourself to gorge yourself on old fashioned treats without interruption. The End.

I grew up on these hot dogs visiting my grandparents as a child and 25 years later they are still awesome and taste the same as they did that long ago. We don't have many natural casing hot dogs places in Michigan and they are the best. Great food and great service!

A Buffalo classic, open year round, quick, cheap and cozy old feel. The atmosphere is lacking but that doesn't matter as the seating is usually so packed it is hard to find a seat. Foot long dog with ketchup, mustard and pickles with a side of onion rings is where it is at.

I grew up on Tail of the Pup, and Pinks out here in Cali, and both are considered "the best" hot dogs (well Tail of the Pup is gone now). However I must say I really love Ted's. The dogs are great, but for some reason I really love the fries and Onion rings. Been here about 5 times, and it's always crowded, and always tasty! Can't speak for the Burgers, or other links because I only order the Hot Dogs, with a side of fries (and steal my wife's O rings).

Staff is friendly, food is great. I enjoy watching cook over the open flame. It's like subway but for grilled meat! Location is close to home making it super convenient. Also of note is they offer military discount!

Ted's is Ted's. How can you not go to Ted's a couple times a year? You walk in to the smell of charcoal grilled food, InstaSummer! Ted's in Buffalo is practically an institution, right up there with the revered chicken wing. Always pleasant service, no-nonsense decor, come as you are and indulge (once in a while, this is high test caloric intake territory) with a good old fashioned hot dog, freshly grilled, with a side of their delicious french fries, and a real milkshake. Ah. Ted's, good old Ted's!

Ted's is, in my opinion, a pretty classic staple around here. They've been around since 1927, and while I can't say whether or not they were any good back then, they certainly are now! Ted's is probably the best place you could go for a hot dog around here. They've got all the toppings, they've got footlongs, fries and onion rings, LOGANBERRY! It seriously doesn't get any better. Most of the restaurants are set up the same way, where you can watch them fry up the hot dogs in a sort of lunch line stye line to the register, and they put your order together right in front of you. Ted's is one of the best places to go to for a good ol' fashion dog.

"Any fries or rings today?" Why yes. Both are the perfect accompanyment to the char-grilled hot dogs and sausages that Ted's has been putting out since the 1920s (well, not at this location, but you know what I mean). Load these dogs up with everything (except ketchup, which obviously doesn't belong on a hot dog) and chase it with a milkshake or loganberry. Outstanding!
